Minnesota parades are exciting events. People of all ages enjoy watching the wonderful people in different costumes marching down the street. The parades in Minnesota often have different themes and the costumes are also designed accordingly. Here are some awesome parades in Minnesota that you shouldn’t miss.

Grand Old Day Parade

This is a big celebration in Saint Paul which takes place in summer. It is a one-day festival and thousands of visitors meet at the historic Grand Avenue. They stroll, dance, eat and play the whole day.

It starts at the corner of Dale Street and ends at Fairview Avenue. The best parade unit wins.

They get the Grand Old Day Parade Best in Show trophy. This is a wonderful way for the people of Minnesota to welcome summer.

Rum River Festival Parade

This is an annual festival that takes place in Princeton. It is a two-day celebration, and it has a rich history. In the parade, you will find youth groups, local businesses, and different types of performances from local bands and dancers.

Prizes include various trophies like Favorite Tractor Unit, Best Animal Entries, and more. A citywide garage sale also takes place before the parade and it’s worth visiting it as you will get many things at a super cheap price.

Winona Steamboat Days Grande Parade

Winona’s community celebrates this 5-day event which includes a parade, music, boat races down the Mississippi River, and a carnival. It takes place at the heart of the city down the historic Broadway.

The streets are packed with visitors for the week. There is the Grande Parade and a Kiddie Parade as well. A mini-parade also takes place encouraging the local youngsters to design their costumes based on a specific theme.

Saint Cloud Granite City Days Parade

It is the biggest annual event in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The parade features more than ten local bands, lots of candy for the children, and more fun. Trophies are awarded in different categories. The winners get an invitation to take part in the following year’s parade. A karaoke contest is held after the parade.

Delano 4th of July Celebration Parade

This is a very traditional parade that takes place on the 4th of July at Delano. You will see a special Grand Marshal who is usually a popular politician, or an entertainer and he or she will be performing live. The parade is beautiful with people in different costumes walking down the street.

Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade

It is the official civic celebration of the City of Minneapolis. It takes place in the downtown area and is full of fun and excitement. The main events include River Rats Water, Target Fireworks display, Ski Show, and more.

Paws and Pigtails Pet Parade

If you have pets, you will enjoy this parade at Proctor. It is a fun event where you can bring your pets. The parade will feature agility demonstrations, costumes, awards, treats, and more.
